The power of repetition (How the small things add up)
After experiencing it myself, I want to pay tribute to the power of repetition. Not in every sense, but in the small things that add up: the tiny changes and habits that make you more than an average person. Because why wouldn’t you want to be stable and happy?
Doing things that give you positive energy helps you live a fulfilling life. There are countless theories and studies proving the importance of building good habits and staying consistent in achieving the goals you set for yourself. These goals don’t have to be astronomical; they can be small changes in your daily life.
Walking 10,000 steps a day, starting a side hustle, practicing your hobby, going to the gym consistently, or training for a marathon. These might seem small, but for many people, they are already impressive. And it all comes down to the power of repetition.
You can set goals, but the real art lies in starting and staying consistent. Keep showing up when you would usually give up. Keep showing up for yourself. Because, even if you don’t always believe it, the things you do in life should benefit you first before they can benefit others.
Prove to yourself that you can do it, because why couldn’t you be that person—the one who exceeds their own expectations?
The best part of all this is that you can’t expect to achieve it overnight. You need to invest time and energy, no matter what. Just keep showing up. Small, consistent steps move you forward, while doing nothing guarantees that you’ll stay stuck, or even slip backward into old habits that feel comfortable but don’t serve you.
Think of it as a big staircase: step by step. Sometimes you can make a small jump of three steps, but it’s impossible to leap from the bottom to the top. The big steps take more energy, which is fine, but sometimes you need to go one step at a time to reflect, stay clear-minded, and keep looking up. Know that the staircase doesn’t seem to end, yet enjoy every single step.
The little steps can take you as far as you want, as long as you keep going. It takes time to learn, to master, and to create the things you envision. Maybe that’s not the answer you wanted to hear, but it’s the truth.
And the journey itself, looking back at how far you’ve come, will only give you more motivation and energy to keep going—even when setbacks come your way.
So keep going. Use the power of repetition to your advantage. Because the only person who can create the life you want to live is you. A cliché, maybe, but a very true one.
